Flap does not open or close correctlyUpdated 14 days ago
First identify what is happening
The flap may be intentionally locked by a button, an app setting or a schedule. A mechanical obstruction or installation alignment can also stop it moving freely.
1. Check the current mode
- Open the app and check Status Flap.
- Check whether a lock schedule is active.
- Look at the four buttons on top of Flappie. A lit lock button means that direction is locked.
See Your Flappie’s buttons and Set lock times and schedules.
2. Check power
Flappie needs power for the camera and lock functions. Use the original power adapter and check that the cable is fully connected. After reconnecting power, wait about three minutes.
3. Check free movement
- With the flap unlocked, move it gently by hand in both directions.
- It should swing freely and close fully every time.
- Remove dirt, hair or anything caught around the flap or locking area.
- Check that the inside and outside units sit straight and that the mounting screws are not overtightened.
4. Restart Flappie
- Unplug Flappie.
- Wait 10 seconds.
- Reconnect power and wait about three minutes.
- Test both directions again.
Stop and unplug Flappie if you notice a burning smell, a damaged cable, repeated loud clicking or visible damage. Do not open the device or use oil on the mechanism.
When contacting support, send a short video showing the problem and say whether it affects entry, exit or both.
