Camera image is black, red or unclearUpdated 8 days ago

Night images can look different

Flappie uses infrared light in the dark. Night images may therefore look black-and-white or have a slight red tint. That is normal.

If the image is unclear in daylight

  1. Wipe the camera lens gently with a soft, damp cloth.
  2. Remove dirt, hair, cobwebs or condensation around the camera opening.
  3. Check that no object, seal or tunnel part blocks the camera.
  4. Do not use alcohol, solvents or cleaning spray on the lens.

If the image stays completely black or red

  1. Check in the app that Flappie is online.
  2. Unplug Flappie, wait 10 seconds and reconnect power.
  3. Wait about three minutes for startup.
  4. Leave Flappie connected so any automatic update can finish.

When to contact support
