Camera image is black, red or unclearUpdated 8 days ago
Night images can look different
Flappie uses infrared light in the dark. Night images may therefore look black-and-white or have a slight red tint. That is normal.
If the image is unclear in daylight
- Wipe the camera lens gently with a soft, damp cloth.
- Remove dirt, hair, cobwebs or condensation around the camera opening.
- Check that no object, seal or tunnel part blocks the camera.
- Do not use alcohol, solvents or cleaning spray on the lens.
If the image stays completely black or red
- Check in the app that Flappie is online.
- Unplug Flappie, wait 10 seconds and reconnect power.
- Wait about three minutes for startup.
- Leave Flappie connected so any automatic update can finish.
When to contact support
Contact us if the daylight image remains completely black, red or distorted after these checks. Include:
