Mounting Adapter: When Is It Needed?Updated 8 days ago
The mounting adapter is a ring that sits between the Flappie frame and the glass, filling the gap when your hole is larger than the standard fit. It's only needed for glass installations.
When do I need a mounting adapter?
| Glass hole diameter | Mounting adapter? |
|---|---|
| < 212 mm | Hole too small — Flappie won't fit |
| 212 – 215 mm | No adapter needed — direct fit |
| > 215 – 260 mm | Mounting adapter required |
| > 260 mm | Too large — new glass needed |
In short: if your glass hole is between 215 and 260 mm, you need the adapter. If it's 212–215 mm, Flappie fits directly.
How does it work?
The mounting adapter consists of two rings — one for the inside and one for the outside of the glass. Each ring is 7 mm thick. They sandwich the glass panel together with the Flappie frame, filling the extra space securely. Screws, seal, and groove are precisely matched.
Glass only
The mounting adapter is designed for circular glass cut-outs only. For rectangular openings in doors or walls, there is no adapter available — larger holes need to be reduced with wood filler or an insert panel.
Where to get it
The mounting adapter is sold separately in the Flappie shop. Only use the original Flappie adapter — third-party parts won't fit.
